Rainproof jackets, hats and shoes are recommended as well as quick dry pants.
Especially important for wading trips, these are also useful in float trips!
Keep all your personal belongings safe and in one place in an easy-to-carry bag.
You may also want bug repellant, sunblock, water bottle, extra socks and sunglasses.
Prior to your trip Scott will reach out for a brief consultation. Depending on the circumstances this conversation can also take place the morning of the trip or on the drive out to the fishing destination. Scott will provide a brief rundown on boating and/or wading safety and understand what your goals are for the day.
Yes, both Wyoming and Montana require fishing licenses to fish. We highly recommend visiting the state websites to purchase your fishing license in advance of your trip.
Brick House Browns provides all fishing equipment needed to have a great day on the river. If you have your own rod, reel or tackle you'd like to bring please feel free! Scott is happy to provide guidance on how best to use your own equipment.
The weather conditions vary significantly throughout the year in Montana and Wyoming - and sometimes day-to-day! It's best to prepare for nearly all possible conditions, especially cooler temperatures, by dressing in layers. Bringing along rain gear, a brimmed hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses will assist in comfort and safety.
Fishing trips begin around 7:30 or 8 am depending on the location. We will break for lunch midday and either stop somewhere or eat on the riverbank. If the fishing is too good to stop we can eat on the run and keep casting! The day will end around 5 or 6 pm, sometimes later in the summer months (or if we are waiting out a good evening dry fly hatch).
